Keeping our Jobsites Safe
Updated April 6, 2020—Our utmost concern is always the safety of our employees, subcontractors, architects and clients on our jobsites. It is our collective responsibility to stay vigilant in our efforts and come together as one to protect each other from the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19) on our jobs and communities.
Howard CDM values the cleanliness of its jobsites and we are committed to doing all we can to keep our communities safe. We are monitoring the CDC, World Health Organization, and local authorities. We will provide our updated jobsite protocol as the situation develops on our website at www.howardcdm.com/covid-19/.
To keep our jobsites healthy, here is what you can do now while on any Howard CDM jobsite:
- Cover your nose and mouth with a clean face covering. It is important to note that face coverings are not a substitute for always practicing physical distancing and frequent handwashing.
- Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially upon entering the jobsite; after using the bathroom; before touching face; before and after eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing; use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol; clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surface such as workstations, keyboards, telephones, handrails, machines, shared tools, elevator control buttons, and doorknobs; and cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing as well as other hygienic recommendations by the CDC.
- If you or someone you live with are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness including fever or cough or impacted by COVID-19, stay home and do not enter the jobsite. Please support your staff if they are feeling ill and encourage them to go home.
- Keep the jobsite clean. Subcontractors should thoroughly clean up their work including properly disposing of any food and drink containers and job-related trash or materials. Jobsite trash should be removed from site in a timely manner.
- Limit person-to-person contact wherever possible and be conscious and courteous of yourself and others, especially those within 6 feet.
