HOLY COW BBQ

LOCATION: CULVER CITY, CA
OWNER: HOLY COW BBQ
ARCHITECT: STUDIO UNLTD

Holy Cow BBQ, a modern Texas roadhouse concept founded by Rob Serritella of MessHall fame, selected Howard CDM to construct their second location in Culver City. Formerly a Japanese restaurant, the 12-week renovation of this 90-seat space consisted of demolition of existing millwork and banquette seating, an expansion of the existing kitchen footprint, and new, unique finishes throughout.

Lending to the authentic BBQ feel, the space is adorned with custom milk-bottle pendant light fixtures, real hardwood siding, textured wooden tables, and milking stool-style seating at the bar and outdoor counter. The custom bar was made with a zinc countertop rather than the typical stainless steel, meant to add character by showing scratches and flaws created over time.
