Howard CDM transformed an 855,351 SF empty lot neighboring the famous Tesla Design Studio into Advanced Air Jet Center LA, a premier fixed-based operator (FBO). The 6-month project included the construction of two 21,200 SF aircraft hangars and an adjacent 2-story office building from ground up. The foundation of the hangars is a concrete slab and finished with clear epoxy flooring. The glossy effect of the floors complement the shiny private jets parked inside while giant 4-paneled cascading doors keep the aircrafts enclosed in the insulated structures. Inside, the office is decorated with exposed steel from the original framework and the conference room ceiling features curved wooden panels meant to replicate the wings of an aircraft. Additionally, the building is surrounded with floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize natural lighting. Landscaping and self-performed concrete in front of the office put the finishing touches.
