The three-story complex holds 49 apartments for homeless, chronically homeless, and transition-aged youth, plus a manager’s unit. The development includes a community room, bike storage, and a community courtyard. Social services such as counseling, community-based health care, and employment training are provided on site. This development took on an innovative approach to financing cost-effective housing, through use of modular design and various funding sources, such as Proposition HHH funds. This project is one of the scattered sites throughout Los Angeles that is part of Mayor Garcetti’s Housing Innovation Challenge with a $23.8 million grant for much needed affordable housing.
