Howard CDM was proud to lead the transformation of former real estate offices within the historic Malaga Cove Plaza landmark into a high-end, self-serve frozen yogurt destination for the Palos Verdes community. Originally built in the 1920s, the iconic plaza demanded a thoughtful and highly technical approach, blending modern hospitality construction with careful preservation of its architectural character. The project required extensive upgrades to power, water, and plumbing systems, along with significant structural retrofitting and seismic reinforcement of the existing building to meet today’s codes and operational demands. What was once an aging office suite is now a vibrant, welcoming retail space, delivering a new community gathering place while honoring nearly a century of local heritage.
